Prayers for General Conference
April 20, 2012
The quadrennial meeting of The United Methodist Church begins in three days. About 1,000 delegates from the U.S., Africa, Europe and The Philippines will be gathering in Tampa to worship and decide what’s best for the denomination, at least for the next four years. This year, the three most talked about issues are the restructuring of the church, homosexuality and ending guaranteed appointments for clergy. There are other things that are important, but have not been talked about as much like the Call to Repentance, Pan-Methodist vote and Imagine No Malaria.

My prayer is simply that we are obedient to the movement of the Holy Spirit. That we are not seeking the glory of self, but seeking the glory of God.
